
Jerry Redmond 1933 ~ 2009 MAGNA- Marvin Jerry Redmond unexpectedly slipped from these earthly bonds into eternity in the early morning hours of February 27, 2009. His life was an example of service which he continued even after a diagnosis of congestive heart failure. He was born September 15, 1933 in Salt Lake City to Marvin John and Beatrice Stewart Redmond. Jerry married his eternal companion Mardee Kelson June 1, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. Jerry graduated from Cyprus High School, attended the U of U, and served his country in Germany. Jerry retired from Kennecott after 35 years. He was active in the LDS church, most recently serving as a High Councilor. Next to his family Jerry's greatest love was the Uinta Mountains. He found joy in sharing his knowledge of them with family and friends alike. Also known as Jerry "No Trail" Redmond he enjoyed talking with his family on his ham radio. KB7RBN is now signing off. Jerry is survived by his wife Mardee, children, Sally (Mike) Best, Jeff (Joni), LuGene Hunter, Quinn (Elizabeth), Deanna (Will) Walker, Derek, Elizabeth (Brett) Jepson, 13 1/2 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brother, Bill (Sheila), and sister, Joyce (Monte) Kelson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Magna Central Stake Center, 8181 West 3320 South. Friends may call from 6-8 pm, Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna and on Tuesday from 11-11:45 am, prior to the services at the church. That's too bad. He wasn't that old. My parents are both older than that.
